There is so much more to the Doberman a side of them that thrives for your attention, affection and approval and they are and can be as gentle as the next breed. I have a red male Doberman named "Zeus" and a Black & Tan female named "Zelda" whom are the two biggest babies I have ever seen! I really think they believe they are lap dogs, Zeus at 120 pds. climbs up on my lap just begging to play and Zelda not to far behind him. But at the drop of a dime you give a command and they stand tall .Zelda is a odd one she thinks she is human she opens the door to go outside with her paws and uses her nose to get back in. She likes to lay in a laundry basket of clothes . And sit in a chair like the next person ...and Zeus if there is a puppy around he flops down on his back and takes his big wet mop of a tongue and licks them almost hairless. And if that isn’t enough he is not allowed on the beds! But he manages to sliver his way behind the couch or table slowly, of not being caught or being in sight and then when he hears one of us he runs like he never ran before to make it back in the kitchen (where he is suppose to be ) and hurries and cops a squat like he has been laying there all along...But besides there little sneaky ways .You give a command and they respond in the blink of a eye.
